Punta Cana
Punta Cana is considered as the major resort area in the Dominican Republic. Several professional golf courses have been built in the area. The nightlife inside the large resorts is very lively. Outside of the hotels and resorts, several small plazas and discotheques allow tourists to interact with local residents. Other tourist attractions have also been installed in the area, like Manatí Park (waterpark), Plaza Bolera Punta Cana (shopping mall and bowling center), a Marina, and the Palma Real Shopping Center in Bávaro, housing well known facilities such as Hard Rock Cafe and Tony Romas. Saona Island, located nearby, is popular for scuba diving.
Cabarete
Cabarete is seen as a very popular surf town in the Dominican Republic. It's located about 40 km from Puerto Plata. The nightlife is great and there is a large variety of sports that can be done.
Puerto Plata
Puerto Plata is located in the north of the Dominican Republic and is one of the most popular tourist destinations of the country. It's connected to a wonderful beach, lot of green and some high mountains.
Sosua
Sosua is located about 25km east of Puerto Plata at the north coast of the country. The city is divided into two areas - Los Charamicos (western side) and El Batey (eastern side). Sosua is getting more popular with the tourists every year.
